About The Arrangement by Mary Balogh

Set in the Regency period, Mary Balogh’s historical romance centers on Vincent Hunt, Viscount Darleigh, a man blinded in battle who wants to escape his mother’s matchmaking. When Miss Sophia Fry’s attempt to help him leaves her without a home, Vincent proposes a marriage that could answer both their urgent needs. Sophia initially refuses, but agrees when she sees the alternative before her.

Their arrangement begins as a practical bargain, with Vincent seeking a wife of his own choosing and Sophia needing protection from destitution. As friendship develops between them, the novel explores whether a marriage made under pressure can grow into love. It will suit readers of Regency romance, marriage-of-convenience stories, and historical romances featuring a disabled protagonist.
