About A Secret Affair by Mary Balogh

Hannah Reid, born a commoner, has been Duchess of Dunbarton since she was nineteen. Now widowed and thirty, she declares that she intends to take a lover: Constantine Huxtable, a man whose illegitimacy has kept him from inheriting the title of earl.

Set in Regency-era England, this historical romance brings together two figures associated with scandal and short-lived affairs. Hannah and Constantine expect desire to remain on their own terms, but their growing attachment complicates that plan. The fifth novel in the Huxtable Quintet, it will suit readers who enjoy Regency romance and stories of widows navigating love and society.
