About Someone to Wed by Mary Balogh

When Alexander Westcott inherits the title of Earl of Riverdale, he also takes on a failing country estate he cannot afford. Determined to repair years of neglect and improve life for those who depend on him, he is unprepared for Wren Heyden’s proposal: she wants marriage, and her fortune gives her the means to seek a husband.

Wren has lived as a recluse for more than twenty years. Alex agrees to court her properly, hoping they might build friendship and respect, but their practical arrangement brings unexpected desire—and questions about the past she has kept veiled. A Regency romance for readers who enjoy marriage-of-convenience stories and courtship shaped by duty and attraction.
