About Midnight Blue-Light Special by Seanan McGuire
The second book in Seanan McGuire’s InCryptid series follows Verity Price, whose family has spent generations studying cryptids and protecting them from both humans and danger. In Manhattan, Verity is trying to keep the local cryptids out of trouble while pursuing ballroom dancing.
Her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Dominic De Luca, brings word that the Covenant of St. George is sending a team to assess the city before a purge. Verity must decide whether to stay and defend the cryptids or leave them without protection. Readers who enjoy witty urban fantasy featuring cryptid lore, complicated loyalties, and a high-stakes choice will find those elements here.
