About Swordcrossed by Freya Marske
Mattinesh Jay needs an experienced swordsman to stand as best man at his arranged marriage. A sword challenge at the ceremony could put his family’s struggling wool business at further risk, but the swordsman he can afford is Luca Piere: a charming part-time con artist with troubles of his own.
Blackmailed into giving Matti sword lessons, Luca finds himself drawn to the dutiful heir, while the pair become caught up in the intrigue and sabotage threatening Matti’s family business. Published in 2024, Swordcrossed is an adult queer fantasy romance with historical and romantasy elements, enemies-to-lovers tension, and a focus on the secrets complicating the pair’s growing alliance. It may appeal to readers looking for LGBTQ+ romance, swordplay, and a relationship-centered fantasy story.
