About Desolation Mountain by William Kent Krueger
A plane crashes on Desolation Mountain, killing a United States senator and most of her family. When first responders begin disappearing, Cork O’Connor and his son Stephen try to find out what happened. Stephen’s foreboding vision of a great bird falling from the sky preceded the disaster, while the FBI’s arrival puts the investigation under federal control.
Cork pursues answers alongside Stephen and private security consultant Bo Thorson, but competing agendas and growing threats make it difficult to know whom to trust. Set in a remote part of Minnesota’s Iron Lake Reservation, this installment in the Cork O’Connor series combines a fatal crash investigation with suspense over the forces working to keep the truth hidden. It will suit readers of crime fiction, investigative mysteries, and high-stakes thrillers.
