About Appointment in Bath by Mimi Matthews
In Victorian Somersetshire, shy Meg Burton-Smythe has lived on the fringes of local society, more at ease with daydreams than conversation. When Ivo Beresford comes to her rescue, their chance meeting brings hope—and a complication: he is the son of her father’s sworn enemy.
Recently returned from a grand tour, Ivo is focused on the future and a proposed railway extension in Somersetshire. He encourages Meg to begin a secret friendship, hoping to set old family grudges aside. The fourth novel in Mimi Matthews’s Somerset Stories series, Appointment in Bath suits readers looking for Victorian historical romance with rival families, a hidden acquaintance, and a friends-to-lovers premise.
