About A Necessary End by Peter Robinson
A policeman is stabbed to death during a nuclear protest march in the rain-soaked streets of Eastvale, a town in northern England. Detective Chief Inspector Alan Banks takes on the investigation, while a former colleague from London arrives to direct the inquiries for supposedly political reasons.
The investigation also puts Banks’s own job at risk. With its police-led murder case and protest-march setting, this mystery may appeal to readers of detective fiction and British crime stories.
