Dilip Joseph is an American physician and humanitarian whose work has included providing medical care and supporting development efforts in Afghanistan. In 2012, he was kidnapped by Taliban fighters while traveling there and later rescued by U.S. forces. He recounts the experience in Kidnapped by the Taliban: A Story of Terror, Hope, and Rescue, written with James Lund. Joseph’s work and writing reflect an interest in humanitarian service, health care, and the challenges of working in conflict zones.
