About Wicked As You Wish by Rin Chupeco
Fairy tales and legends shape the world of this young adult fantasy. Avalon, once a magical kingdom, has been left frozen by the Snow Queen, and its people have become refugees. Crown Prince Alex and his protectors are living in Arizona, where Tala Makiling—a girl whose family curse makes her a spellbreaker, someone who destroys magic—has helped keep his identity secret.
When the legendary Firebird appears, Alex and Tala set out with new companions toward Avalon and the possibility of hope for its people. Their journey brings them into conflict with dangerous prophecies, ice wolves, a possible traitor, and the Snow Queen. Readers drawn to fairy tales, mythology, folklore, and inventive fantasy adventures will find a lively blend of legendary figures and a new quest.
