About The God Engines by John Scalzi
Captain Ean Tephe is a man of faith and an unwaveringly loyal captain. When the Bishopry Militant assigns him a ship and crew for a secret mission to a hidden land, he expects the task to test his leadership and devotion.
What Tephe does not know is where his faith and ship will ultimately be put to use—or that the challenges ahead will come from more than his god and the Bishopry Militant. This science-fiction story may appeal to readers interested in speculative tales of religious allegiance, command, and a mission whose purpose is not fully known.
