About The Frozen People by Elly Griffiths
Ali Dawson and her cold-case team have a secret advantage: they can travel through time to search for evidence. Ali has only visited the recent past before she is assigned a murder investigation that reaches back to 1850. The killing was blamed on an aristocratic patron of the arts and antiquities, who belongs to a group known as the Collectors.
Arriving in the Victorian era during a mini ice age, Ali finds another dead woman and a case full of unanswered questions. When her son is arrested, she tries to return to her own time—but becomes trapped in 1850. The first Ali Dawson mystery combines cold-case crime with time travel and historical fiction.
