About The Currents of Space by Isaac Asimov
Florinia’s prosperity rests on the production of kyrt by its native workers, while the Squires of Sark enjoy wealth and comfort. The Trantorian Empire allows this unequal order to continue, fearing that disrupting the trade could provoke wider unrest and even galactic war.
At the center of the crisis is Rik, a man found living among Florinia’s workers with no memory of his past. As his memories return, he becomes determined to deliver a warning: the Currents of Space bring destruction to the planet. This science-fiction novel combines planetary politics, interstellar trade, and a mystery about the warning’s source and the forces that would silence it. The 1991 Spectra edition is suited to readers of classic science fiction and space opera.
