About Soulswift by Megan Bannen
Gelya is a Vessel, trained to channel the word of the One True God through song. Her faith teaches that a saint imprisoned Elath, the Great Demon, centuries ago. When Gelya uncovers a deadly military cover-up, she joins forces with Tavik, an enemy soldier whose beliefs about Elath challenge everything she has been taught.
After Tavik opens Elath’s prison, Gelya becomes the goddess’s unwilling human vessel—and the church that raised her sees her as a threat. As Gelya and Tavik search for a way to drive Elath from her body, they face questions of faith, betrayal, and the possible destruction of the world. Published in 2020, this young adult fantasy suits readers drawn to magic, romance, and a protagonist forced to reconsider her beliefs.
