About On Second Thought by Kristan Higgins
Published by HQN in 2017, On Second Thought is a contemporary romance about two half sisters whose lives are upended by heartbreak and loss. Ainsley O’Leary is blindsided when her boyfriend ends their relationship in a blog post that goes viral. Her older half sister, Kate, is coping with the sudden death of her new husband after only four months of marriage.
Though the sisters have never been close, they begin to confide in one another as Kate learns her late husband had kept a secret. Their difficult summer brings family tensions and relationship disappointments into focus, while they reckon with the possibility of finding love again. Readers drawn to contemporary romance, sister relationships, and stories about grief and family will find those subjects at the heart of the book.
