About Now You See Us by Balli Kaur Jaswal
In contemporary Singapore, Corazon, Donita, and Angel are Filipina domestic workers in the homes of the wealthy. When Flordeliza Martinez, another domestic worker, is arrested for murdering her employer, the three women join forces to investigate what happened.
Balli Kaur Jaswal’s mystery follows the women as they draw on their knowledge of the households where they work to piece together the case. Readers interested in crime fiction set in Singapore, and in stories centered on immigrant domestic workers, will find a distinctive perspective here.
