About Ninth Key by Jenny Carroll
High school sophomore Susannah Simon has been in sunny California for only two weeks when a ghost appears at her bedside with a plea: find “Red” and tell him he is not responsible for her death. Susannah has to follow the clues and investigate a murder, even as they point toward the father of Tad Beaumont—the wealthy, attractive boy who has just asked her out.
Ninth Key is a young adult mystery with a supernatural premise, set against Susannah’s new life among school friends and stepbrothers. It suits readers looking for a ghost story where an investigation complicates the beginnings of a first romance.
