About My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand
Lady Jane Grey’s story gets a comic fantasy treatment in this young adult retelling of English history. At sixteen, Jane is facing marriage to a stranger and a conspiracy involving her cousin, King Edward. Then she finds herself Queen of England—a change that brings its own complications.
Published by HarperTeen in 2016, My Lady Jane mixes historical fiction with fantasy, romance, and humor while taking a deliberately loose approach to actual events. It may appeal to readers looking for lively YA historical fantasy, playful retellings, or an irreverent take on the story of Lady Jane Grey.
