About Celebrity in Death by J.D. Robb
Lieutenant Eve Dallas is used to investigating New York City's criminal underworld, not attending a Hollywood-style celebration. At a party for the debut of a film based on one of her cases, she and her partner, Peabody, find themselves among celebrities—including actresses portraying them on screen.
The festivities turn into a homicide investigation when actress K. T. Harris is found drowned in the rooftop lap pool of the director's luxury building. This mystery brings Eve's police work into a world of fame and celebrity, a setting that sits uneasily with her but gives Peabody a chance to enjoy the star-studded crowd. Readers looking for a crime novel centered on a homicide investigation and its celebrity-filled backdrop will find both here.
