About Bad Dolls by Rachel Harrison
Published by Berkley in 2022, Bad Dolls is a collection of four horror stories about body image, complicated female friendships, heartbreak, and hauntings. Rachel Harrison brings horror into recognizable modern situations, from a bachelorette weekend to the unease of preparing for an ex’s wedding.
The stories include an indecisive woman who finds a mysterious Magic 8 Ball, an unusually brutal dieting app, and a porcelain doll that may connect its new owner to her lost sister. Readers looking for contemporary horror in short form, especially stories exploring the unsettling side of relationships and self-image, may find this collection a good fit.
