About Adrift in Currents Clean and Clear by Seanan McGuire
Nadya has never felt incomplete because she was born without an arm. When her adoptive parents give her a prosthetic she does not want, she struggles to explain why it feels wrong and begins to wander. A door leads her to Belyyreka, the Land Beneath the Lake, where she is accepted as a Drowned Girl.
Set in a water-filled fantasy world of giant turtles, strange ships, and dangerous amphibians, this tenth Wayward Children novella follows Nadya as she finds a sense of home and faces threats to what she has come to value. Its subjects include belonging, family, and disability. It may appeal to readers of young adult fantasy, imaginative novellas, and the wider Wayward Children series.
