About A Rush of Wings by Laura E. Weymouth
Rowenna Winthrop knows she has magic, but her mother refuses to teach her the craft that protects their Scottish village. After her mother dies, a shipwreck and an astonishing return bring a curse: Rowenna’s brothers and a stranger named Gawen are turned into swans, and Rowenna loses her voice.
This young adult romantic fantasy retelling follows Rowenna as she flees to Inverness to seek a way to break the curse. There, she encounters people who want to use her untrained power, forcing her to find her own path toward protecting the people she loves. Readers drawn to fairy-tale retellings, magic, and romance will find those elements at the heart of this 2021 novel.
