About A Life of Shadows by Kristen Banet
Sawyer Matthews has learned to keep moving despite nightmares, regret, and the consequences of choices made with good intentions. Once known as the “dead” Magi assassin Shadow, she has tried to leave that identity behind—but her past catches up when she is taken by the International Magi Police Organization.
This urban fantasy follows Sawyer as she faces the person who made her what she is and confronts the possibility of redemption. The story includes a reverse-harem romance in which the leading character does not have to choose among her romantic interests, as well as M/M content.
Written for mature readers, the series includes violence, language, and sexual themes, and addresses subjects such as suicide, child abuse, rape, and PTSD. Readers looking for dark urban fantasy with a haunted assassin at its center should note these content warnings.
