About A Composition of Scars by Hazel S. Wilkes
Before becoming a feared captain, Draven is a teenager working to improve his magic and combat skills while struggling under his father Tynan Dalmar’s harsh judgment. When a painful family conflict reaches a breaking point, Draven’s mother takes him away from House Dalmar to the city of Príth.
This fantasy novella follows Draven as life in a new city broadens his view of the world and offers the possibility of a warmer family life—until his father upends that sense of safety. A story in the Cadence of the Fallen series, it is intended to be read after A Requiem for Fallen Stars.
